THE CHUCK-IT LIST

Ever heard of a Chuck-It List? First time for me today.

In short…

A Chuck-It List is essentially the opposite of a Bucket List. We all have those, or at least should have!

My Bucket List has a bunch of aspirations and experiences on it that I am ticking off while I live (why do folk say “before they die?” 🤔 )

How will this work for you?

The concept of a Chuck-It List can cover various aspects of your life, including habits, responsibilities, possessions, or even negative attitudes.

Its all about what you would prefer to (and should probably) discard, avoid, or get rid of, and is designed to be a way of acknowledging and confronting things that may be holding you back, causing pain, frustration, or discomfort.

By listing them (another list 🖐🏻 ), it can serve as a great starting point for actively working to eliminate them from your life.

Some I’m going to consider for mine:
  • Procrastination habits – No screens before bed, drink more water.
  • Negative self-talk – Imposter Syndrome comes to mind.
  • Clutter – Well what’s left of it…a few books and shelves of empty Apple boxes and devices. (Proof supplied. Can we even throw these away? IYKYK)
  • Unhealthy relationships – My bankers are driving me mad!
  • Bad dietary habits – Chuckles, Pringles, no vegetables, drinking water from a plastic bottle, need I say more?
  • Saying “yes” too often – Still learning to say “no” when needed. Hard.
  • Stress-inducing obligations – Committing to help those who won’t help themselves.
  • Filing – Never liked it when it was paper, still don’t when it’s digital. Not sure on this one.

A little self-reflection never hurts.

Make your list.
