PHUBBING

Ever heard of Phubbing?

In short… It’s the act of ignoring someone in a social setting by focusing on your phone instead. We’re all guilty.

It’s those times when you:

  • Check your phone while in a discussion.
  • Scroll through social media at the dinner table.
  • Prioritise messaging over face-to-face interactions.
  • Check emails while a team member is giving an update.
  • Don’t mingle at a bash as you are glued to your phone.
  • Scroll through your phone while your kid is speaking.

What’s worked for me (and “yes”, I’m still a WiP)…Phone is always on silent + I don’t put my phone on the table and rather leave it on a chair/counter near me or in my bag + I will stop talking if someone takes or responds to a message and wait for them to finish (an awkward moment).

You know what to do… #juststop #learngrowteachrepeat #phubbing
