BUILDING RESILIENCE

You learn a lot about people when they don’t get what they want.

How do you or your team respond to disappointment, setbacks, or a firm no? It’s in these moments that true character reveals itself.

  • Some of you will react with grace, others with frustration.
  • Some may seek understanding and growth.
  • Others of you will assign blame or retreat into bitterness.

These reactions always say more about a person than their successes ever could.

Ask yourself…
  • Do I see obstacles as opportunities to learn?
  • Can I maintain composure and respect when things don’t go my way?
  • Am I building a reputation for perseverance or entitlement?
  • Do I focus on solutions, or do I dwell on the problem?
  • Can I celebrate someone else’s success even if I feel left behind?
  • Am I willing to adapt and try again, or do I give up too soon?

In life and in business, resilience is a key marker of growth and it’s not just about how we navigate the highs but how we rise from the lows.

Your team, your friends, and your family are always observing how you react under pressure…especially when the outcome isn’t in your favour.

As a fractional leader, I’ve seen how resilience transforms not just individuals but entire organisations. It’s a competitive edge you can’t fake. It’s a defining moment.

What about you?

Think about the last time you didn’t get what you wanted.

Did you grow from it…or did you throw your toys out the cot?
