FINDING YOUR GLIMMER

Ever heard of “Finding Your Glimmer”?

Glimmer is that little spark, that moment of joy or hope, even in the darkest of times.

I know for me personally I can sometimes find this really tough to do.

Life can be so busy and it’s super easy to get caught up in the daily grind and lose sight of what makes me light up.

What I need to be grateful for.

What I need to walk away from.

I realise that finding those small sparks that bring positive energy and keep me moving forward is essential for me to operate at my best and so no matter how tough it is, I find remaining curious, celebrating wins (both big and small), and doing the things that make me happy really recharges me.

So here are some tips…

  • Learn something new. Attend a webinar on something you don’t know. Connect and learn with someone from a different field. Listen to a podcast that challenges your current thinking.
  • Treat yourself to an ice-cream/chocolate/massage (all 3?) after a month of wins. Share a quick “thank you” message with that person who helped you. Write down one thing you accomplished at the end of each day.
  • Make time to take a walk in nature without distractions. Book that concert or event and take a crowd with you. Join that sports club and compete.

Finding your glimmer isn’t about achieving something huge. It’s about those little moments that make you feel alive. It’s about finding what brings you joy and holding onto it, even when life gets challenging.

It’s about having your own light so you can be the light to others.
