GIVEN

Ever find yourself dealing with things that should have just been done?

In any well-run organisation, there are certain fundamentals that shouldn’t require constant follow-up or policing. They’re the non-negotiables. The should have been done. The “givens”.

Here are a few I’ve come across over the years:

  • It’s a given that feedback (positive or constructive) is timely and honest, and not just left for performance reviews.
  • It’s a given that values aren’t just on the wall. They should show up in behaviour, decisions, and meetings.
  • It’s a given that before a new team member begins contributing to an org, their contract, take-on forms, and induction are completed.
  • It’s a given that leadership should always make, and have time to focus on coaching and guiding the folk around them.
  • It’s a given that operationally, the relevant checks and balances across all day-to-day KPA’s are in place, monitored, and measured.
  • It’s a given that everyone should do what they say they will.

As a fractional exec, I see this time and again…Founders and leadership are being pulled into the weeds simply because the basics aren’t being owned.

Imagine if you had a “Given Team”?

You’ll be amazed how much more capacity, headspace, and momentum you will have if you do.

On your marks…
