WHEN EATING FRUIT, REMEMBER THE ONE WHO PLANTED THE TREE

Ever heard of the proverb “When eating fruit, remember the one who planted the tree?”

In short…

It’s a lesson in gratitude. And this shouldn’t be just for the big moments.

It’s about appreciating the little things that make life meaningful and it’s a daily choice to see what we have as enough and honour the people and moments that made it possible.

You should be grateful for…
  • The mentor who guided you through tough times, helping you learn from your mistakes.
  • The opportunities that came your way because someone believed in your potential and took a chance on you.
  • The colleagues, friends, and family who have supported you, whether in work or in life.
  • The leaders who created a culture of openness and encouraged you to speak your mind without fear.
  • The teachers, coaches, or role models who helped you develop your skills and grow into who you are today.
  • The small but meaningful acts of kindness from those who have made your day a little brighter…whether it’s a smile from a stranger or a word of encouragement.
  • The creators of music, books, or films that have brought comfort, inspiration, and joy to your life.

Gratitude is about recognising the impact others have had on your journey.

It’s not just about enjoying the fruit…it’s about remembering and appreciating those who planted the tree.
